Andrew KiddA Groveland Township household is under analysis following a neighbor’s complaint revealed exotic creatures living in the home.

Although the facility is licensed to help keep these creatures, neighbors expressed their concerns about keeping these questions residential area. Township authorities are attempting to see whether the zoo violates township zoning laws, based on a study by ABC 12.

The proprietors from the facility, Andrew and Rachelle Gehringer, moved towards the area in the year 2006 and also have roughly 50 creatures around the 22-acre property.


Within the report, Groveland Township Supervisor Robert DePalma stated there is some concern from neighbors that had observed creatures around the property, together with a whitened tiger and apes. DePalma stated the township will consider the matter from the zoning perspective, but really wants to address the general public safety aspect first.

The Concord Press arrived at to DePalma Friday but township offices were closed and DePalma had not came back a phone call designed to his personal phone.

The Gehringers sent a collectively composed email towards the Concord Press Friday, stating that they’ve approached the township and aspire to rectify the issue.

Some problems came about lately, however, when new, more-stringent laws adopted in November 2009 were introduced towards the Gehringers’ attention.

The Gehringers stated that lots of their neighbors haven't contacted them or even the township with any concerns previously nine years.
